I am trying to get help for a vulnerable person. Does anyone know of a security company who can provide the type of "panic button" wired into the phone or similar when the person can contact the company for help.

This is extremely urgent.
Thank you in advance

La Marina

Thank you for your prompt reply. You may have saved someone's life or at the very least made it possible for them to return to their home in safety.

Thanks again
Veronica

Perhaps another alternative is to try personalalarms.com / Under security for the elderly and disabled / Domestic help alarm (ha28). Rings three preset numbers once activated.

Hi Paul we are with the same company but I did not know we had a local rep so I have taken note of the number. Cheers. Would have liked to have come tonight but I have terrible mouth ulcers and cannot eat very much. Hope you have a good night.

Eve, start taking a good vitamin B supplement, especially B12. It should help those ulcers.

Commented Maz in La Marina 2013-03-20 16:40:42 UTC

Thanks for that Maz now I think about it a Doctor in England gave me a B12 Injection years ago. he said that the next morning I would be slightly hyper-active. The only thing was I went to a Dinner & Dance that evening and it kicked in during the evening. I was rocking and rolling around like a lunatic. I felt really embarrassed when I realised. No, before anyone asks, they were not playing a waltz at the time.

Mouth ulcers? go to the market in Guardamar and find the honey stall. Ask her for PROPOLIS. It's something that the honey bees produce from trees to line the cells and the complete inside of the hives. It is an antiseptic and also an anaesthetic. If you put a small piece of it on your tongue, it will go numb. If you put a small ( the size of this letter o - 'o' ) piece and suck it, then your mouth takes on a numb feeling, giving relief because you can't feel the ulcer. Once it's gone slightly numb you will be able to push the piece onto the ulcer without pain and it will stay numb and the antiseptic qualities help it to heal quicker. If the honey lady does not have any pure propolis (propóleos) , she may have a liquid tincture version which still works but not as good. If still no joy let me know and I'll bring you some free when we come over in April 13th for 10 days( if you're still alive ). It lasts for years.
Steve- Beekeeper over 30 years( and has never had a cold !)

Hi Cath thanks I will go down to Guadamar market next wednesday and see if I can find this lady. I don't think i will die from these ulcers, but, I do get them on a regular basis so anything to help will be appreciated. I will let you know if and when I find it. Cheers Eve. At least you gave me a laugh.

Steve, Cathcook,
for many people perhaps this information is unimportant, but for people like me that have suffered with mouth ulcers all my life this may bring liberation from constant pain and sleepless nights. Thank you for sharing this and I will try it.

Commented Roger in La Marina 2013-03-20 18:59:29 UTC

If I can contact you when I come over on 13th April in La Marina( My place is 37 Calle San Francisco) I will bring a block of propolis. Free

On a similar note, some bacteria in the mouth prevent or slow down the healing of ulcers and by exposing the ulcer to PURE RAW honey, the bacteria are unable to reproduce. RAW honey direct from the beekeepers in for example Guardamar is so pure that bacteria cannot survive on it. Hence the reason for it being used on medical dressings ( e.g -leg ulcers) in hospitals and the like. AND on BURNS units ( This is NOT the processed ultra filtered shop honeys which have little left in them by the time you open the jar, and that includes the MANUKA honey that people pay £15 a jar for ) I think there may be one on the La Marina Urb market but you'll know better than me on that. Steve and Cath

Commented cathcook in Quesada 2013-03-20 23:06:43 UTC

Manuka honey is actually from the TEA TREE so if you see TEA TREE honey (raw), go for it!

Commented cathcook in Quesada 2013-03-20 23:10:16 UTC

Cath i will look on Guadamar market but if you could bring me some over I will be only to willing to pay for it. I am in SAT Animal Rescue shop every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday or i could collect it from you. I would be very grateful. Eve

Now "THAT" is what this forum should be about, nice people helping nice people.....well done Maz and Cath!

Commented Bikerbee in Hondon de las Nieves 2013-03-21 17:52:50 UTC

Haha Eve, Vitamin B is definitely a stimulant and should be taken early morning, never in the afternoon!
It will help the ulcers to heal and also aid in preventing the return of them.
Also please be aware, much as there are great benefits from honey, some people are allergic to Tea Tree, so treat honey from that source carefully until you establish whether or not you are allergic.

Commented Maz in La Marina 2013-03-21 21:31:22 UTC

It was a good job the woman I was dancing with was quite agile Maz. I will go to the Farmacia today and see if they sell Vitamin B tablets - I think they sell quite a few of those sort of natural products. Thanks for your help. xx

Commented Caroline in La Marina 2013-03-22 06:21:48 UTC

I have just been up to the Farmacia on the Satellite roundabout and purchased 5 phials of vitamin B12 in liquid form. You take one a week. Total Cost 2.28 euros.

Hi Eve, I used to suffer with really bad mouth ulcers and eventually my dentist sent me to an orthodontist at hospital. I was prescribed with a tube of something that looked like wallpaper paste, but was absolutely fantastic. Bonjela was rubbish but this paste was great. I was also given some little pink tablets that you place in a little water and rinse your mouth out with it. Mine disappeared with 2 days and haven't come back. I will try and find out the name of the paste. The name of the tablets are (Betamethasone) 500 micrograms. Hope this helps, most medicines I get in England they can do in Spain and seem to be far better.

Commented Vicky in La Marina 2013-03-22 21:13:59 UTC

Betamethasone is a corticosteroid-steroid.

Commented Maz in La Marina 2013-03-22 21:17:12 UTC

Yes I know but it did the trick. I only used them for 5 days and my ulcers have never come back.

Commented Vicky in La Marina 2013-03-22 21:19:57 UTC

Thanks for that Vicky I will see if I can get some from the Farmacia.

Securitas Direct - excellent company... my friend has used them as she lives in the campo and she is quite remote.
She has on numerous occasions forgotten to disarm her alarm and within seconds they are on the phone to her making sure she is ok.. she also has emergency panic buttons and it doesnt cost her a huge amount and for her safety its worth every penny - or cent ...

Commented Souxie in La Marina 2013-05-01 16:57:43 UTC

How much is it per month? I'd heard it was about €40 but again could just be rumours.

Commented marko in Quesada 2013-05-01 18:28:14 UTC

It is all very well the security company contacting you by phone when the Alarm is activated. It is the Response of the Police to the property in the event of a break in you want to take into account. These systems are good if you need to contact the Ambulance service and give peace of mind to some. However,do your Homework. You will find that the monthly fees for this type of Alarm are expensive. To constantly pay Month in Month out will soon hit your savings. If you are happy with that, then all is OK. However,we as an Installer of Alarm systems, offer a system that will dial up to 3 allocated numbers and there is NO MONTHLY fees. Its a one off payment and includes fitting and IVA and we offer a yearly service once the guarantee has run out. For more information just take a look at us in the service section. BE SURE ALARMS
