Not just the bars closing.......

To all,

Cornish Pride.......

As everyone knows current times are hard with so many residents deciding to return to the UK. I am one person that does not wish to do that. I have been in this shop for the past five years and have seen with my own eyes the decline in trade.

To try and make up for this decline I have had to take onboard in the store various new items and services, just one would be our postal service, which to my astonishment I still have local residents tell me they did not know about. I have many other products in the shop which include Fresh Bread, Pies & Pasties, Cakes, Birthday/Anniversary Cards, Ladies/Childrens/Babies Clothing, Daily Newspapers as well as numerous other services for my customers.

I am determined to try and stay open during this recession and come through the otherside. It would be nice to have the support of the local community for all my efforts.

Regards,

Kenneth Brown

Ken,
Could you tell us a little bit more about your postal service. ie How much and what sort of delivery times are normal.
John

You will also get the same postal service and same price as Ken offers from QUICK SAVE in the Grey Area next to Bonnies and Ramons restaurant. Most people will know it as its where the old post office was based

To malcolm x

Are you suggesting that our postal service is not legitemate?

Commented ken brown in La Marina 2012-11-13 12:47:44 UTC

What Im saying "mate" is to you and others, be careful. If the bars doing live music to stay in business are strugling because of doing things other than what their current licence covers them for, it looks as if they will be penalised. Besides, its bad enough for some businesses trying to get by at present without thinking of selling something other than what they have always done and got a licence for, therefore giving those other businesses a chance surely.

I see where you are coming from Ken but unfortunately a lot of Brits rip of the Brits. e.g. I had a quotation from an English Builder for 2 Double Glazed arched windows and decided against it because they were too expensive. The other day I noticed a Spanish Company who make and fit their own windows so I asked for a quote. The quote was 623.64 cents less than the English Builder and that is a lot of money to pensioners. So if we do not always support our fellow countrymen its because they are too expensive. We owe no one a living so each and every business has to be competitive.

Eve- in relation to your comments its all about the cost of the materials and what quality of material they use. If they make their own they may buy items in bulk or miss out the middle man saving money hence cheaper price. This does not mean you are being ripped off.

You can rap it up anyway you like Mikey, I recognise rip off when i see it. The gap is too wide, moneywise, apart from that I talk to my nephew in England as to current prices of things , he is in the building trade. We are not talking peanuts here we are talking mega bucks. After spending 10 years in Spain I have learnt a thing or two. At the end of the day I like value for money and if they do a good job that is all I ask, apart from that I was chatting to a gentleman on the Urb who had seen my comment on here. He knows the Spanish Company I am talking about and recommends them, and if they miss out the middle men then that is to my advantage. Do I take it you are a business man Mikey? I have run a business of my own and never felt the need to "rip people off to make a fast buck". Value for money has always been my motto and it has always paid off.
