San Isidro fiesta this weekend

Going to be a lively weekend near me starting tonight - Pilgrimage of San Isidro in Parque el Recorral, Quesada. Huge beer tent & marquee up ready for the festivities starting with the open air bands & disco late tonight. Tomorrow childrens activities from 5pm and then 10pm the dance and flamenco show with the horses. This is always great so if you have visitors I'm sure they'd love it! There is also a tourist bus in the centre of Quesada to take people to the park.
Sunday, from 8am, is the procession with the float (with a stop at Pueblo Lucero to give aniseed rolls and muscatel to the pilgrims,and then the Holy Mass with a choir at 10am in the park's chapel. Then there are loads of things going on for the rest of the day, including another flamenco show at 12.30pm. Well worth a visit!

Angie this sounds wonderful, wish I was there! I am arriving in late July from South Africa, and would love to make new friends. Where is the best place to meet single people please? And do you know if the Friday night dance club is still running, and where it is please? Pamela

Hi Debra,
Parque El Recorral directions: Go past Country Club & bowls club to the end, turn right into Aeropuerto Road, then left into C/San Jose. At crossroads turn right into C/Sorolla towards the lake, at next crossroads take a left into C/Quevedo. Take 5th left into Avda del Greco and then 2nd right into Calle Romeria. Go down to the bottom and the park is opposite. Loads of parking available just before the entrance between the pine trees.

The Recorral park is in La Fiesta 1 which is about a five minute drive from the country club.

Hi Pamela,
I'm not sure of singles clubs or Friday dancing, bound to be info on this site. Why not come and try one of my Zumba classes, great fun way to keep fit and meet lots of new people!

Try going for coffee at La Laguna hotel each Wednesday about 11/11.30am.Great bunch who are very friendly, often have lunch somewhere afterwards and you get to know lots of info re what's going on in the area!! Best of luck!! jacqui
